I didn't see the familiar...
..."the owner of the UNIX operating system"....
nonsense in that press release? What's up with that?

Can we get together, coordinate and try to get some questions asked?
I'm not sure how the selection process for questions works, but maybe if there
are more of us trying, one will get through. And if we can previously agree on a
set of good questions that can be asked?

I wonder if this is a lame attempt to portray themselves as a victim of the
crazed Linux terrorists?
It seems inevitable that at least a few people may try to disrupt the call, if
only by trying to get answers to some of the more obvious SCO failings.
I hope I'm wrong.
I plan on listening in on the webcast, I'm actually more interested on the tone
of analysts and share holders. [ Reply to This | # ]

Hmm... "may
be"? I'm going to guess SCOG are no longer
sure just what they own let alone
anyone else.

I feel so flattered that I was invited.
I mean, to think, I could witness
Darl and other key TSG executives, lie, squirm, twist and obfuscate
personally!
Like I don't get enough of that from their press releases,
interviews and court filings, geesh! [ Reply to This | # ]

It just struck me as funny that SCO here claimed a global network of 4000
developers. When they recently cut their workforce by 10% letting to 25
developers that means they've got about 225 employees at SCO, not all of
which can be developers.
I was just wondering where this mountain of developers came from. They
seem to tout Samba quite highly in UnixWare and OpenServer. Does this
global network of developers include the people behind FOSS projects that
they include in their systems (Samba, Apache, Perl)? I wonder what guys like
Larry Wall feel about being labeled as part of SCO's "global network of
4000
developers".[ Reply to This | # ]

Please ask SCO
1. How strong is their evidence of copying from UNIX System V or UNIXWARE into
Linux?
2. How many lines were copied? How many by IBM?
3. Do SCO know *precisely* where the lines were copied from? UNIX SYSTEM V, or
UNIXWARE, or something else?
4. Does SCO think that this copying is a copyright infringement?
I look forward to reading SCO's June 2004 answers on these.

someone askes for comments on where TSCOG is headed or does Mr. Blepp's
statement about only revealing bits of evidence at a time still reflect the SCO
strategy.

That last sentence is interesting...don't remember seeing it
before in their material....hmmmmm.

I expect SCOG to say that their "licensing" program is going according
to plan, that they will prevail in all of their lawsuits and that their stock is
undervalued and thus an extremely good bargain - my comment at this point is
that their current price of $4.80 represents a capitalization of $70 mil, whis
in in turn $20 mil above their cash reserve. If they show a losing quarter, then
their stock could go down to $3.40 (or 5/7 of $70 mil) which means that the only
thing holding up their stock will be their cash reserve.
SCOG would be well advised to make sure that its ducks are lined up in a row, so
far as its SEC filings are concerned. I will definitely be interested in the
Darl's tone: is it buoyant, grandiose, bombastic, confrontational, etc.? I would
twist the knife in the wound and ask the Darl when, not if, the Darl intends to
follow through his commitment to sue 10 to 15 more corporate users.[ Reply to This | # ]
