Tanner: A little scoop more |

Tanner has filed its 11th application for compensation [PDF], along with the Certificate of No Objection [PDF] on its 10th, so the train chugs onward. But it's slowing down. This is the third lowest bill since the gravy train left the station, only $14,730.25 and expenses. The 10th bill was for $14,450, and in May it was $8,574. Compare that, on page 2 of the 11th application, to the 3rd bill in January for a hefty $65,955 and the 4th for $98,095, and you'll see what I mean. Note that Exhibit A is attached to the main document this time, not detached. You'll find it on page 14. And from that we see that Tanner's time was spent on SEC reviews and corporate tax preparation and "other tax services" which are not explained. But it lists Tim Brinton as doing it, and he's a
Senior Tax Accountant at Tanner. I don't know what they'll call him when he's 60. He's a 2004 graduate of Brigham Young University, according to LinkedIn. Tanner looks like a fun place to work if you're young. Lots of sports. Speaking of fun, I hope some of you are planning to make it to the hearing on the 16th.

"Senior Tax Accountant" is a normal title for someone in a public
accounting firm for about 4 years. When I worked in the Big Eight (I'm dating
myself), the titles ran something like this:
Staff Tax Accountant (1-3 years)
Senior Tax Accountant (4-5 years)
Tax Manager (5-7 years)
Senior Tax Manager (7+ years)
Partner or Director (10-12+ years)[ Reply to This | # ]

Tanner seems to stick mostly to legitimate financial issues, so its bills are
not very interesting to me. The document I am interested in is the latest MOR;
that one is late.
And despite the lower billings since June, the cash drain did not slow.
Although Mr. Spector claimed June's MOR would show improvement, most of the cash
that made it appear that way was pulled in from overseas subsidiaries which are
not included in the SCO Operations MOR tables, only as page 8 of the GL cash
reporting.[ Reply to This | # ]

A) Apple makes Nano iPods - Nano iPods store video.
B) Apple sells SPECIAL CABLE to output video to TV ($15)
C) Turns out that Apple's $15 SPECIAL CABLE is just a $3 camcorder A/V cable
with the terminal colors reversed/changed!!!!!
D) Apple finds out people buying $3 A/V cable - so Apple adds chip to Nano iPod
and brings out NEW SPECIAL CABLE that costs $50 (that's $5o, not the original
$15) with a chip in it, so that regular $3 A/V cable no longer works, nor does
Apple's original $15 SPECIAL CABLE.
E)Slimmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmey or what! (Yes I have bought 7 Apple computers!! )[ Reply to This | # ]

Good design - "go closer to the window" -- yup... good design!!

The first suit
seeking class action status was filed on Tuesday
by an Alabama woman who
alleges that Apple has advertised double the
Internet speeds with the iPhone
3G, which, due to a plethora of connection,
are impossible to
reach.
